In response to the New Brunswick Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s commitment to incorporate Treaty Education teachings within the curriculum, the Three Nations Education Group Inc. put together a robust teacher resource library for Grades 3, 4, and 5.
This teaching resource is instrumental in young people throughout New Brunswick better understanding the nature of the treaties signed between the Indigenous people of New Brunswick with the British Crown.
Through this learning resource, educators will have access to the following:
Curriculum resources for Grades 3, 4, and 5
9 lesson plans in each Grade resource
Each curriculum contains Mi’kmaw and Wolastoqey Latuwewakon vocabulary
Class activities are available based on whether the learning resource will be presented to Indigenous schools, schools with some Indigenous students, and schools with no Indigenous students
A total of 4 weeks of work
Additionally, two mobile applications are available for learners to hear words spoken in the Mi’kmaw and Wolastoqey languages.
